Who am I?

Lord! We know what we are, but know not what we may be.

– William Shakespeare

My name is Maja Egset.

Who I am, might be one of the hardest questions to answer. What qualities and aspects defines one as a person? I for one do not have an answer, but I do have a few thoughts about the subject. To a degree we can change, and decide who we want to be. This is purely based on your choices, and what you want to do with your life and resources, in my eyes. Time, which to me, seems to be one of the most valuable aspects of life, is purely yours. Therefore that might be a good way to understand, and perhaps define, a person. How do you use your time?

I am seventeen years old, and I’m a student at Fagerlia high school.

For as long as I can remember I’ve always liked to analyse people. The inner human drive, and what compels us to make different decisions has always been extremely fascinating to me. For years I’ve been the infamous therapist friend, and I’ve always found it quite interesting to discuss other’s feelings and behaviourism. This has given me a clear path, as I quickly learned that studying psychology is something that I truly desire to devote my life to. The complex human mind awakens such curiosity in me, that I sincerely cannot imagine studying anything else.

In my free time I try to balance work, studying, school, friends, sports and family. I love filling up my schedule, so I also volunteer at “redningsselskapet UNG”, “kirkens bymisjon” and “NOAH- dyrs rettigheter”. These are all nonprofitable organisations that truly give me a sense of a higher meaning, and I frankly love to use my free time to give back to my local community. A day where I am not running around trying to reach all my deadlines is an unsuccessful, and ineffective day.
